American Fondent Icing
Ingredients:
1 lb granulated sugar
8 tablespoonfuls water
2 egg whites
few drops lemon juice
Method:
Put sugar and water into saucepan dissolve slowly, boil for 3 mins to form syrup. Add lemon juice. Have egg whites in bowl, beat lightly, pour on syrup slowly whisking quickly. Continue to cook the icing standing the bowl in saucepan of boiling water and whisking all the time. When icing takes imprint of heater pour over cake and work over it. Then fork up.
