Cornish Cake

Ingredients:

1 lb flour
1/2 [lb] sugar
1/2 lb currants
1/2 [lb] raisins
1 or 2 eggs
1/2 pt milk
1/2 lb butter
2 ozs peel
1/4 teaspoon butmeg
1/4 cream of tarter
1/teaspoon baking soda

Browning:

2 ozs loaf sugar
2 tablespoon water

Method: 
Boiled until burning. Stir in little milk.

Method:

Rub butter into flour. Mix all dry ingredients and add liquid to make a fairly stiff dough. Put into a greased tin and bake in a moderate oven.
